Pre-bachelor Intern

About Bea
Bea Buchler is a senior at Towson High School, joining Psychiatry for Women as a Pre-Bachelor Intern while exploring her passion for medicine and psychiatry. Deeply interested in women’s health, Bea brings tremendous enthusiasm, curiosity, and insight to her role. She has completed HIPAA training and will be observing patients in the clinical setting as part of her experiential learning.
Bea has designed and launched a research study examining how advancing age influences the severity of mood and physical symptoms during the premenstrual (luteal) phase of the menstrual cycle. In addition, she is helping to expand our premenstrual clinical program through web development and social media initiatives aimed at education and awareness.
Bea has a heart of gold and an authentic passion for women’s care. We are thrilled to have her on the team as we help shape the future of reproductive psychiatry together.

Many women notice that their premenstrual symptoms—things like mood changes, irritability, anxiety, fatigue, or physical discomfort—shift over time. Symptoms in your teens may feel different from symptoms in your 20s, 30s, 40s, or during perimenopause. Even though this is a common experience, it hasn’t been well studied.
This survey is part of a project by Psychiatry for Women in collaboration with Bea Buchler, a senior at Towson High School who is passionate about reproductive psychiatry. Our goal is to learn how premenstrual symptoms change across the lifespan so we can improve care and understanding for women of all ages.
