
About Chaya
Chaya received her bachelor's degree in Biology and Art History from Yeshiva University Stern College for Women in Manhattan, NY. She then worked as an Emergency Medical Technician in both New York and Maryland before applying to PA school. She graduated from the Towson University/CCBC Essex Collaborative Physician Assistant Program in 2017. She was the honored recipient of the “PA’s PA” Award as well as a selected member of the Pi Alpha National Honor Society.
Following PA school, Chaya worked as a critical care PA in a community hospital intensive care unit. With three years of experience in critical care medicine, Chaya joined the field of psychiatry in 2020, following her own experience with postpartum depression, with the goal of creating positive patient relationships and experiences in the process of improving women's mental health.
Chaya specializes in the treatment of psychiatric disorders in women in pregnancy and beyond. Her areas of expertise include anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, bipolar disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as well as premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), postpartum depression/anxiety (PPD/A), and perimenopause. She is licensed to treat patients in Maryland, DC, Virginia, New York and Florida.
Outside of work, Chaya enjoys spending time with her husband and kiddos, reading historical fiction and romance novels, and feeling one with nature.
